Breaking News: Changes to Research Regulations

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has announced proposed changes to the regulations protecting human subjects in research. The changes are the first to be proposed since 1991.

The public comment period opened this week and continues until September 26.

The full text of the Advanced Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (ANPR) can be read online. DePaul faculty are encouraged to review the proposed changes and submit their comments.

The SSRC will be reviewing the proposed changes and will offer up our analysis and highlight relevant changes in an upcoming issue of re/search, along with comments from the Office of Research Protections. Stay tuned.
