Netgalley is an online service that utilizes the convenience of digital media to make advanced reader copies (or galleys) of books more accessible to professional readers like reviewers, bloggers, educators, and librarians.
Essentially, Netgalley works like a social networking site, facilitating the relationship between professional readers and publishing houses in a user-friendly, community-based environment.
Site members can search NetGalley’s available titles, provided by more than 100 publishers, and then submit a request which is passed along to the publisher by NetGalley. Once approved, readers can access galley copies either directly through their browser or through mobile applications like iphone, Android, and Kindle.
